Established in 1881, Caulfield Grammar School is a leading independent co-educational school in Melbourne, with a purpose of enabling “quality learning every day, in every experience for every learner for life”. The school has 3 locations across Melbourne including Malvern, Wheeler’s Hill and  Caulfield; the latter of which Zenith recently provided furnishings to for the Senior School Teaching and Learning building.

With a focus on well-being, the project was designed by Designinc and 3XN to meet the needs of both students and teachers for now and generations to come. The 5-level facility provides space for collaboration and flexibility and includes 28 classrooms, 8 science laboratories, a design-tech space, a function room and several informal learning spaces and break-out hubs. Targeting 6-star Greenstar rating and WELL Gold certification, Zenith supplied products that were sustainable and eco-friendly.

Thoughtfully designed and robustly manufactured, the Jac seating range is the perfect juncture of elegance, functionality, and sustainability. Suitable for innumerable spaces, Caulfield Grammar School chose the Jac sled chair and stools for break out and meeting spaces within the building.

Jac is also the ideal choice to minimise environmental impact: For every Jac sold a tree is planted through Zenith’s sustainability initiative. Currently the One Tree project is focused on Ecological Restoration in South-West WA, at Boorokup and Tambellup Noongar Farm, providing education and empowerment for the local indigenous community through on-going employment.

SOL-Sit is part of the SOL-Mix range of furnishings designed for contemporary working environments. The Sol-Sit modular lounge facilitates seating spaces for informal meetings, socialising, creative collaborations and moments of quiet retreat and focus. The lounge modules are available in a range of sizes as well as concave and convex, allowing the user to create a lounging experience suited to their requirements.

Tipo Chair by Axona Aichi is a collection of ultra-light, high density multi-purpose stacking chairs, with complementing stools and tables. The chairs are manufactured from 100% recycled materials and have the ability to stack 40 high, with numerous add-ons and base options, making it an ideal choice for learning environments.

The Senior School Teaching and Learning building at Caulfield Grammar School exemplifies sustainable design and flexibility, offering versatile spaces for collaboration and learning. Zenith were happy to provide furniture solutions  for the project, to support long-term student and staff well-being while minimizing environmental impact.
