Now in its 85th year, the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) represents over 30,000 medical specialists and trainees from 33 areas of specialty across Australia and New Zealand. When RACP recently relocated to new headquarters in Wellington New Zealand, they engaged Sydney designers The Bold Collective and Zenith Wellington to assist with design and furniture solutions for the new site.
Zenith were contracted to integrate several locations across Australia and New Zealand utilising current access control systems with the Smartalock locker booking system. Smartalock combines high-performance locker hardware with intelligent software into a complete package. Smartalock is an electronic “smart lock” that can be retrofitted into existing lockers or installed on new lockers. Smartalock can be accessed with a smartphone or swipe card, eliminating the need for PIN codes. Offering freedom and security for agile and adaptive workspaces, Smartalock allows permanent staff an assigned locker for their personal items and provides a temporary safe storage space for hybrid workers.
RACP required workstations for focused areas and chose Zenith’s Orbis for the task. Orbis works as a standalone or can be configured into collaboration areas. Customisable to individual height requirements, Orbis’ alternating desk height helps combat muscle inactivity and increase circulation. Complementing the Orbis, the Vox task chair provides flex and support for every change in position. Vox offers its users comfort and function without compromising in style.
For a stylish, comfortable and durable meeting room seating solution, RACP chose the ever-versatile JAC side chair. Thoughtfully designed and robustly manufactured, Jac is an ideal choice for a multitude of spaces. As part of our sustainability commitment, with every JAC sold a tree is planted, through the One Tree programme making it an environmentally responsible choice.
The resultant office is a functional and aesthetically pleasing space in Wellington. Zenith were delighted to participate in RACP’s project to create a social and healthful environment that supported the workspace needs and well-being of the RACP team.
