Zenith Sponsors Salon Canberra at NFSA
Zenith Canberra sponsor a Salon Canberra event to discuss ideas on the built environment and Canberra's evolving urban landscape.
Zenith RBA is thrilled to continue its support for the Melbourne Indigenous Transition School (MITS). We are delighted to announce that the MITS Boarding House project at 371 Church Street, Richmond, has been shortlisted for a National AIA Award for Residential Architecture, with the winners to be announced in November.
MITS is a residential transition school for young Indigenous students from remote and regional communities who aspire to achieve a great education away from home. Each year, their school and boarding program delivers a Year 7 curriculum to 22 students. From Year 8 onwards, these students transition to Melbourne partner schools across the independent, government, and Catholic sectors. MITS provides a two-year school and boarding program, enabling young Indigenous people to confidently step into Melbourne schools while remaining culturally strong and connected with their families.
The MITS Boarding House features a mix of dormitories, study areas, and gathering spaces, serving as the physical and spiritual home for the MITS community. This facility supports and develops Indigenous students to lead empowered lives full of choice and opportunity.
As part of our Indigenous Action Plan, Zenith RBA has supported MITS by donating furnishings for their administrative area and the boarding house. Congratulations to the team at McIldowie Partners for this well-deserved recognition. Special thanks to Tom Ross for the photography that captures the essence of this incredible project.
