Founded in 1938 as New England University College, a part of the University of Sydney, the University of New England (UNE) became fully independent in 1954. As a pioneer in distance education, UNE has a long-standing legacy of providing flexible learning opportunities, evolving from correspondence courses to leading online education in Australia.

As a leader in providing durable and adaptive furnishings to the Education sector, Zenith was recently engaged to provide a selection of furnishings for UNE Sydney campus at Parramatta, designed by Arch| Sydney.

For independent concentrated work, UNE chose Zenith’s Rumba electric workstations. Rumba is exceptionally stable and sturdy, yet uncompromising in visual appeal. The electric height adjustable feature allows for effortless individual customisation. Supporting UNE’s goal of easy collaboration, Rumba can be configured in a number of ways to facilitate individual or collaborative work modes.

Zenith’s Precinct collection comprises of individual elements that seamlessly come together to create a diverse array of tailored workspaces. The Precinct Meet Booth, a ‘room within a room’, offers an ideal setting for quiet meetings or social interaction. Enclosed by high screens, it accommodates a wide spectrum of work modalities, fostering both concentration and teamwork within its thoughtfully designed space.

Tipo Chair by Axona Aichi is a collection of ultra-light, high density multi-purpose stacking chairs, with complementing stools and tables. The chairs are manufactured from 100% recycled materials and have the ability to stack 40 high, with numerous add-ons and base options, making it an ideal choice for learning environments.

Through thoughtful and adaptable solutions, Zenith has supported UNE Sydney’s vision of a dynamic and flexible learning environment.
