Capricorn was established in 1974 by a small group of 17 Western Australian service station owners to increase their buying power. A member-based organisation, today Capricorn has over 29,000 Members and over 2,000 committed Preferred Suppliers across Australia and New Zealand.

To create a modern workplace that effectively utilised floorspace and supported hybrid and flexible work modes, Capricorn sought the design expertise of Woods Bagot for their Perth office. Zenith were engaged to provide a suite of furnishings and integrated workplace technology solutions, to optimise spatial utilisation, support hybrid work and create increased employee productivity and satisfaction.

Orbis Workstations with Zenith Connect Puck

To facilitate efficient hybrid and flexible workspaces for their employees, Capricorn chose Zenith’s Orbis workstations with Zenith Connect’s integrated desk booking system with the Zenith Connect Puck.

The Zenith Connect Puck serves as an integrated reservation system, seamlessly enabling check-in and check-out for workstations. Its features include occupancy sensing and device charging. Additionally, the Puck supports user location tracking and wayfinding, offering valuable insights into actual space usage, thereby enhancing strategic space planning.

Zenith’s Orbis electric workstations are customisable to individual height requirements, helping combat muscle inactivity and increase circulation. Orbis is exceptionally stable and sturdy, yet uncompromising in visual appeal. Supporting easy collaboration, Orbis can be configured in a number of ways to facilitate individual or collaborative work modes. Zenith Connect Pucks were installed into the Orbis workstations for Capricorn, allowing hybrid and flexible workers to book a workstation when needed.

Zenith Connect Puck                                                                                                     Smartalock Locker System

Capricorn also opted for Zenith’s Smartalock. Smartalock combines high-performance locker hardware with intelligent software into a complete package. Offering freedom and security for agile and adaptive workspaces, Smartalock allows permanent staff an assigned locker for their personal items and provides a temporary safe storage space for hybrid workers. The Smartalock touchscreen kiosk can open and control any door on the overall system, and works with existing building access cards and employees smart phones, allowing staff to easily book and access a locker, or book via the Smartalock online portal.

Precinct Pods

For focused and autonomous work, Capricorn chose Zenith’s Precinct Pods. Precinct Pod is an acoustic-panelled system that creates a variety of workspaces for countless work modalities, from a bookable desk for a hybrid worker, to an enclosed retreat for an online meeting.

Zenith were delighted to partner with Woods Bagot and Capricorn to enhance their Perth office. By integrating workstations and locker systems with Zenith Connect’s workplace technology solutions, Capricorn now has intelligent furniture solutions that support hybrid and flexible work modalities.
