Commenced in 2022, the now completed refurbishment of the Manakau Civic Centre provides improved working spaces for ‘kaimahi’ (staff) and the expansion and revitalisation of the west annex for the Ōtara Papatoetoe Local Board. The council’s goal was to support their people in more efficient and effective ways of working. To achieve this, they engaged CPRW to design adaptive spaces with a consistent look across sites. Zenith supplied a range of seating and meeting tables to provide versatile furnishings with a harmonious design language.
Jac Sled Stool and Kissen Table
One of the most stylish and versatile commercial chairs available, Jac is the quintessential chair for the modern workspace. Its sculpted form cradles and supports the natural contours of the human body, while offering a versatile minimalist profile that sits comfortably in a vast range of work areas and industries.
Manakau Council opted for the Jac sled stool and Jac chairs for their breakout, meeting and conference areas. Jac also aligned with Manakau Council’s commitment to support the environment and community: For every Jac sold a tree is planted through Zenith’s sustainability initiative. Currently the One Tree project in New Zealand is focused on ecological restoration of Manuka trees in the Waingake forest region.
Kissen Conference Bespoke Table
As a multi-functional table for collaborative environments, the Kissen conference table is unmatched. Kissen conference is a collection of folding tables with a unique two-way folding feature. This omni fold feature allows for activation from both sides of the top and rapid usability. The lightweight frame also makes it easy to move and reconfigure, making it ideal for an adaptive facility. Manakau Council opted for several different Kissen tables for meeting and connection zones. Zenith also created a bespoke quadrilateral Kissen Conference with omni duct power for an auditorium within the council building.
The refurbishment of the Manakau Civic Centre embodies a thoughtful approach to modern workspace design, supporting flexibility and sustainability.
